Future Missionary!

So my Husband is the Young Mens President for our ward(Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) in Blackburn England and they have been putting extra focus on the importance of going on a mission.  One of the Young Men turned 18 and as they have now lowered the age for Young men to be able to go on their mission from 19 to 18 he is determined to get his papers in ASAP. So his wonderful mother commisioned a cake of me with a missionary theme. We decided it needed some humour as well and well... once you see the picture you will see there was definately some humour! He collapsed in laughter when he sa it, so I think our job is done! I asked his mom to print off the picture for me, laminate it and put it on a stick.
And the result is.....

I learnt a lot from this cake! like.. keep it out of the heat or it will start to shift and therefore make all sorts of odd shapes. Dowling is also a good thing to have if you have a tall cake... a very good thing. But hey, they were happy with the cake anyway, so you live and you learn. For my next cake I will be making some purchases first. definately!!!

Joining Our Forces!

My wonderful Mother-in-law and I have joined forces once again! This time for a full blown cake stall at this big event at an airfield. My Father-in-law is a pilot at Turweston Aerodrome in Oxfordshire. Once a year they do a big event where old cars and planes are showcased and they also have different stalls and even some rides for kids. So we decided to collaborate together on making things for this event. It was sooo much hard work, and SOOO much fun! Here is the list of things we ended up selling:
 Hazelnut Cupcakes
Strawberry Cupcakes
Marshmallow Cupcakes
Red Velvet Cupcakes
Bakewell Tarts
Carrotcakes
Guiness Fruitcake
Peanutbutter Cookies
Double Chocolate Cookies
Red Velvet Cakepops
Vanilla Cakepops
Chocolate Cakepops
Rumballs
Marzipan Rum Rolls
Scottish Allbutter Fudge
FlapJacks
Gumdrops
Rocky Road bars
Aeroplane Sugarcookies
and
Homemade Lemonade

So yes... We were busy, and we learnt a thing or two about time management! We had to figure out what we had to do ahead of time to make sure we could make everything fresh. It was Great! Here are some pictures!!

The Marshmallow cupcakes got little fondant lollipopsticks! Sweet as candy!

Felicity's Baby Blessing!

Hi All!
So these aren't the most clear pictures, but I had to post them anyway as I had a lot of fun making these decorations.I Stress the fact that I can take no credit for the actual cakes them selves as it was my wonderful Mother-in-law that made them. She is this amazing cook and baker that I can't praise enough! Everything she makes tastes devine! So we thought e would thro our heads together and use her baking skills and my decorating skills and see what came out at the other end. Felicity is my husbands brother and his wife's new baby. If I wasn't already broody, then I can tell you that this little beautiful girl has definately sealed that deal. I am definately Broody!
So welcome to this world Felicity!
